I guess so.
Learning to amend source code for X windows and then recompiling sounds time consuming and dangerous ! What would be a normal time to wait for a fix or a patch for something like this?
I'm hoping to make updates of Emacs and XEmacs soon which should fix this.

I believe "top posting" is when one follows up to a mail quoting the previous mail after one's comment, rather than commenting below/after it.
