This is from mysqld.log: ------------- 050111 17:26:21 mysqld started Cannot initialize InnoDB as 'innodb_data_file_path' is not set. If you do not want to use transactional InnoDB tables, add a line skip-innodb to the [mysqld] section of init parameters in your my.cnf or my.ini. If you want to use InnoDB tables, add to the [mysqld] section, for example, innodb_data_file_path = ibdata1:10M:autoextend But to get good performance you should adjust for your hardware the InnoDB startup options listed in section 2 at http://www.innodb.com/ibman.html /usr/libexec/mysqld: ready for connections ------------------

it sounds like you may be trying to start it twice, with the second one failing. the log entry you provided appears to be from /var/log/messages. i think you'll get more/better information from the mysql log.

HI!
Looks like something is wrong in starting MySQL daemon in FC3. While booting it shows Starting MySQL daemon and the [Failed] but when I check for running services MySQL daemon is running fine and I run a forum which is mysql based and is also running fine. From my boot log there is only this line:---------- Jan 11 17:26:31 xmail mysqld: Starting MySQL: failed ---------- Any idea why it shows Failed instead of OK?
