Thanks Alex, I am able to receive mail, I just can't log in when I send mail. It behaves as if I'm using the wrong password. It just asks over and over again.
Do you actually have authentication configured in Sendmail? Some email clients will attempt to authenticate against Sendmail by default (for example Thunderbird), and this will sometimes fail if Sendmail is not configured to authenticate users. If you don't need user authentication in Sendmail (most people don't), and if you don't have it configured, simply turn it off in the client.
