The FC3-printserver has cups and the RH9-box sending jobs to be printed has LPD (no cups because of special needs; filters etc.). There are no machines with Windows. Everything worked as long as the FC3-printserver-box was still a RH9-printserver-box (no alterations at the sending RH9-end) I did system-configure-securitylevel to open ports 515 tcp and udp at the FC3's end (and /etc/sysconfig/iptables shows them to be open), the printer is shared for all and accepting cupslpd so FC3 should now accept the jobs? But no, even "lpr -P <printer's name> job-to-be-printed" did not work. That is why I am now trying the SAMBA-way. Any hints? Bengt
