What I do is this:
Use Partition to create a directory on your hard drive large enough to hold the CDs. I always download the single DVD version but still make my partition 5GB to account for larger versions in the future. Move the iso onto that drive.
Open the iso with a tool such as Daemon Tools http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/download.php?mode=Download&id=34 and look at the images directory. Inside there will be one of two ISO images. I use the smaller one for disk drives and burn that image to a flash memory stick.
With the flash drive still in your USB port, reboot. You may need to tell you computer to boot from the USB, but once you do, your install will start automatically.
As an option, you may wish to create another (3rd) partition to store any and all data you want to keep once you make it out of the evil empire's grip (sorry, couldn't help myself)
Other than the failure to reboot every day, virus problems, and the increased speed and productivity, you will hardly know you are not in Windows any more (again, couldn't help myself)
