Subject: FC3 - Proliant Servers

Hiya,

Just tried to install FC3 on a Proliant 5000 (quad processor, 1GB
memory) and got a cannot install , you do not have enough RAM message.

I tied the memory diagnostic option and it appears to only recognise 16M
of memory, but the Compaq diag shows 1G which passes test.

Any ideas? r and I waisting my time. In which case any suggestions as to
which distro will run.

Rob

I haven't worked with a Proliant that old for quite a while. Those old EISA systems have a really weird memory addressing model.

At the installer screen, type:

linux text mem=1008M@16M

If that's not it, try:

linux text mem=16M@1008M

Hope this helps,
Thomas
