This should already be happening. man logrotate There should be an entry in /etc/cron.daily/ for logrotate to happen automatically. Check your /etc/logrotate.conf for the mechanism being used, such a gzip or actual deletion and retention periods, and /etc/logrotate.d/ for the specific files it's working with.
