As I replied to the original poster, Dag Wieer's package works with
FC2 and installs entries into Gnome and KDE panels. Here is the link:

http://dag.wieers.com/packages/firefox/firefox-0.10.1-0.1.1.fc2.test.i386.rpm

Since you are using the Mozilla installer copy the following into the
file /usr/share/applications/mozilla-firefox.desktop

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Firefox Web Browser
GenericName=Web Browser
Comment=Browse the Web
Exec=firefox
Icon=firefox.png
Terminal=false
Type=Application
MimeType=text/html;text/xml;application/xhtml+xml;application/vnd.mozilla.xul+xml;text/mml;
X-Desktop-File-Install-Version=0.9
Categories=Network;Application;X-Fedora;

The data is from an FC3 install. The only difference will be that
X-Desktop-File-Install-Version will have a value less than 0.9 in FC2.

If you need info for browser plugins go to
