Can you give us the output of 'hdparm -tT /dev/hda' with both SuSE and Fedora? The only big difference they can encounter when encoding video is the disk IO. If SuSE does 'hdparm -d1 -c1 -u1 /dev/hda' or similar (typing by hard) maybe they ran Fedora without DMA enabled and SuSE with. -- Regards, Doncho N.
