Compiling s.th. into Kernel

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi everybody,

I read the following on a web site:

Use the 'cpudyn' ebuild from Gentoo. NOTE that one has to compile the
Powernow! option for AMD CPUs into the kernel in order for this to work
(CONFIG_X86_POWERNOW_K8=y). Do take the effort of installing this in
order to avoid a constantly whining fan!

How can I compile this (CONFIG_X86_POWERNOW_K8=y) into my FC3 Kernel?
How one can compile things to the kernel?

By the way - are there any tools for laptops which show me the status of
my batteries (like on windows in the task bar)?
