Nope - same thing with Fedora installed yum.
It chokes on transaction check on yum update if pre-extras is enabled.
Same choke.
The problem appears to be aalib specific (dependency check excluding aalib and aalib-devel, fails with same yum error when only asking to update aalib)
I'll file a bug report against aalib
