It didn't help, hence the question. ---- probably best to keep on list first, you do want to make sure that udev is completely up-to-date. there is a link on that page to... <http://www.reactivated.net/udevrules.php> which is the kind of thing I used to add rules to /etc/udev/rules.d/10- udev.rules using the udevinfo command to specifically identify the device and then use the rules to assign it the specific device - why not work through the issues with the list.
