i have a cd wrote w/ win98 i can read it on fc2 but not on fc3! ls # mount /dev/cdrom mount: block device /dev/hda is write-protected, mounting read-only mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda, or too many mounted file systems
strange is that it took this command fine # mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /media/cdrecorder/
Try the mount as # mount /media/cdrecorder or # mount /dev/hda
[root@SuTecK sly]# mount /dev/hda mount: block device /dev/hda is write-protected, mounting read-only mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda, or too many mounted file systems [root@SuTecK sly]# mount /media/cdrecorder mount: block device /dev/hda is write-protected, mounting read-only mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda, or too many mounted file systems [root@SuTecK sly]# mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /media/cdrecorder/ mount: block device /dev/cdrom is write-protected, mounting read-only [root@SuTecK sly]#
only the last one worked. this cd was created w/ adaptec on win98. fc2 does the automount w/ no problem
/dev/cdrom is no longer listed in /etc/fstab by default.
/dev/cdrom, /dev/cdwriter, /dev/dvd are all links to /dev/hda
