Look at MS tools, all integrated. GNOME / KDE it's the same, e.g. can save browser passwords in gnome keyring, together with other passwords. OOo it's getting better (gtk, native file-open dialog...). Evolution calendar it's integrated with gnome clock applet, and so on.
