IIRC, you can use the RPM command line switch --whatprovides to help answer your question.

Also, this url is a read if you want to learn more about RPM.

Subject: Yum dependency problem

I am trying to install DVDRip via yum. VCDImager is a dependent, but
also requires two libraries that I don't have, so I keep getting the
following error. Where can I get these so that I don't have to compile
everything from source?

====================
[root@andrew andrew]# yum install vcdimager
Setting up Install Process
Setting up Repo:  freshrpms-core
repomd.xml                100% |=========================|  843 B    00:00
Setting up Repo:  dries
repomd.xml                100% |=========================|  951 B    00:00
Setting up Repo:  dag
repomd.xml                100% |=========================|  951 B    00:00
Setting up Repo:  livna-stable
repomd.xml                100% |=========================|  951 B    00:00
Setting up Repo:  freshrpms-updates
repomd.xml                100% |=========================|  843 B    00:00
Setting up Repo:  atrpms-stable
repomd.xml                100% |==================!
