I did run the suggestions as posted on FC3 release notes. I am running
VMware Workstation 4.5.2-8848 rpm.

There is some text in the FC3 release notes on configuring vmware inside FC3.
Have you tried that out?
Also - you didn't mention the version of Vmware you have.
