Yes, I feel we are the tester of a software sometimes.
But RedHat is become a commerical software like others.
So no choice to continue to use it....
For my customers I get them to use RHES.
But for home, I don't really feel like paying for the support. Might as well stick to M$ in that case. ;-) (ok thats pushing it but you know what I mean)
Personally I'm still peeved at RedHat for dividing into RHE and Fedora.
I think there could have been a better solution. Although I do appreciate the advance warnings and extended time to switch over.
I would have paid $100.00/yr for updates... Just not $349.00.
Also the times I have contacted RH for support with RHE it was a joke. The first level tier of support knew less about running RH servers than I did.
I suppose I should probably simply swicth distros... I just hate to do so since I've been running RedHat servers since version 4 or so. It was MY first router to the internet on an ISDN line almost 10 years ago.
So I feel a kind of loyalty and comfort from RH.
But I know on my local LUG group mailling list RH is not very popular.
Cheers,
Mike
