Mouse not working

I just installed Fedora Core 3.  I'm using xfce and a serial mouse.  I 
seem to recall a message during bootup saying the serial mouse was 
recognized (where do I check that?), yet for some reason, the mouse is 
not working in X.

What device name would the mouse be given?  How can I figure out what's 
going wrong?
