Why not just use mail.haligonian.com:smpt/ssl (aka port 465) from your mail client directly - and not monkey with sendmail? It appears to be open. BTW: I use 2 different smtp relays - one directly with smtp/ssl - the other smtp - over ssh-portforwarding. The ssh portforwarding requires user intervention - each time I switch networks.
