Hi Folks,
I haven't found anything by googling, but I'm not sure if this has been covered here in the list.
I have a Toshiba laptop with a built-in Prism II wifi card that's on the pcmcia bus. The card worked fine in both FC1 and FC2. Within the last few weeks, I installed FC3 on the laptop (clean install), and have had no luck in getting the wifi to work. I mostly work in KDE so I tried using the now integrated KWifiManager, but to no avail. I even tried fiddling with the new GNOME network manager, but that yielded no better result.
The card is recognized as a wifi card by kudzu, but none of the settings I enter seem to work. I've even tried adjusting the settings directly in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 file. Nothing. I've removed the configurations altogether and started over (everything from /etc/modprobe.conf to /etc/sysconfig/hwconfig). Again, nothing.
Are there any known issues with wireless in FC3?
Should I just go back to FC2 and do an upgrade-install of FC3?
My FreeBSD installation on the same machine works, so I really don't think it's a hardware problem (dual boot).
Thanks in advance!
Chris
