This has been going on for over a week. First, I find it a good advise to do X updates in console mode only. So sign off from your current session and then switch to console 1 by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1. Then login as root and switch off X by running "init 3". You may need to press "enter" 1 time to get the prompt back. You can process the update from command line by running "up2date -u". Much safer to have X not running when updating it. > Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? Have I messed up my > install? So I would highly recommend you customize the /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources file (I think you meant that) and place in there one or more mirror server sources near to your location. Else a mirror would be chosen randomly and that can be causing big lags for your update. > - Jack Holden Alexander -- Alexander Dalloz | Enger, Germany | new address - new key: 0xB366A773 legal statement: http://www.uni-x.org/legal.html Fedora GNU/Linux Core 2 (Tettnang) on Athlon kernel 2.6.9-1.6_FC2smp Serendipity 04:47:07 up 3 days, 23:34, load average: 0.31, 0.37, 0.55
