Anybody have an idea of what could be >happening? Spa,Assassin is slow. It doesn't max out your cpu, but it also doesn't do things in parallel which would max out your cpu - but get the job done a lot faster. I like it, I use it, but it is slow. Filter for spam after you filter everything else, and tell your other filters to stop processessing once they filter a message. That helps some.
