Ok, when you get to your prompt ( [root@localhost ~]#)

useradd <yourusername>
passwd <yourusername>
yum install kde-base kdm

That should get you to a gui with a user that will have limits, but
you might want to reinstall the system with a basic workstation
install rather than the minimal packages.
