Does 'ps axf' show a process 'sleep 1'? I think perhaps when there are no other USB devices nodes /dev/usb isn't created at all, and the libusbscanner hotplug script doesn't seem to cope with that.

Do I take it right that I should plug in another device, like a USB flash drive to get this to work?
