USB Scanner Permission Problem

Hello!

Anyone found out how to set the user-permissions of an USB scanner
that's connected at boot-time in Fedora Core 3 permanently?

I'm using a Canon LIDE 30 and everything is right when I connect it
while the computer is running, but if the scanner was already plugged at
boot-time only root has access to it.

I had the same problem on FC2 but could solve it by adding
 none	/proc/bus/usb	usbfs	defaults,devmode=0666 0 0
to my fstab file. Apparently this won't work in FC3. I tried some
modifications to one or two of the files belonging to hutplug or udev,
but whatever I did it won't work.

I'm just looking for a way to set the scanner owners to root:scanner and
the permissions to 0660. Every pointer would be great!

Greetings,
Alexander
