also, for yum you have yumi (or gyum) as a very nice gui for yum. I have not yet tested, if it works with the latest version of yum.

I read somewhere that Seth (yum author) said that the new yum was structured in a way that would make it easier to write front-ends for it, so I expect a nice new one will come along before too long.
