There are rpms for driver and firmware:

http://atrpms.net/dist/fc3/ipw2200/
http://atrpms.net/dist/common/ipw2200-firmware/

If you have ATrpms enabled, all you need to do is

apt-get install kernel-module-ipw2200-`uname -r` ipw2200

and write a ifcfg-ethN confiog file (perhaps some system-config-* can
already do that for you after installing the driver).
