Unfortunately this is a sad case of udev breakage, there is some delay
(approximately 5s) between the device beeing detected on the bus (after
you press the hotsync button) and the device nodes and symlinks beeing
created.
Workaround: Type the desired pilot-xfer command line, press the hotsync
button and wait for 5-10s before you press enter.
