I decided to do a fresh install of Fedora Core 3 rather than an in-place upgrade. I'm having problems getting my DNS name server to work properly. It used to work well. In addition to the collection of zone files that come with a clean system, I've added two files. One zone file is for the "itinker.net" zone and the other is a reverse mapping file for the 198.183.251.* class C address space. When I fire up named, I get an error when attempting to load the reverse mapping file. The error message is: Nov 14 15:02:07 manchester named[5463]: zone 251.183.198.in-addr.arpa/IN: loading master file 251.183.198.in-addr.arpa.zone: permission denied The zone file for the itinker.net zone is loaded without error. I'm stumped as to why one file would work but not the other. -- Rich
