That's a silly remark, IMHO. FC-3 is meant to work, isn't it? If it doesn't work on some machine that's a bug, not a matter of being "bleeding edge".

I've wondered about this. (I think it predates FC-3, though.) Why has Apache suddenly become a forbidden word? Is it a licensing issue?
IIRC it was changed to allow you to run *any* http deamon without worrying about the dependancies. A similar change helped to alliviate the change from XFree86 to Xorg....
