I had the same problem with an Acer Travelmate 4000 (

try this:

edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf

in the "screen" section are 2 entries. I suppose you use 24 bit, so you move to the subsection with the depth "24" and add in the modes line before the first entry "1920x1200". After that you have to restart the xserver ( --> init 3 --> init 5 )

It helped me with an 1280x800 resolution

Hi all,

I installed FC3 on my Dell Precision M60 laptop yesterday. It looks good although I've not really done much yet.

It has a 1920x1200 display and Nvidia Quadro FX Go 1000 graphics card. During the setup it asks me for monitor type, so I selected a generic 1920x1200 LCD monitor. When it asks me about screen resolution I can only select 1920x1440 or 1600x1200, why not 1920x1200. I haven't tried downloading the drivers from Nvidia yet. Does this make any sense to anyone?

Slainte, in advance,

David
