Do the yum/up2date thing....

run 
    system-config-sound
Click OK even if you hear nothing.
run 
    aumix 
make sure master PCM and PCM2 are 75% or so.
Do the save then quit thing.  

rerun 
    system-config-sound

Should be ok...
