That sucks, unfortunately they never altered the FC2 ISO's, so you would have had to do some searching to find the "modified ones" I think a note if nothing else could have been made more obvious.-----Original Message----- From: fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Douglas Furlong Sent: Monday, November 08, 2004 12:52 PM To: For users of Fedora Core releases Subject: Re: FC3 dual boot

I got into a briar patch with FC2 and messed up my machine big time. Before I try this again with FC3 final I thought I'd ask.

As far as I am aware, this was fixed several weeks after FC2 was released, and updated boot.iso's were released to be used as well.
So this should not have been a problem for the past 5 months.
May I also add that fixe's have been very weel documented for even longer.

Thanks Doug.
I tried to install FC2 from the download iso and trashed my machine about a month ago. I tried the fixes posted and never recovered. I ended up re-installing Win2k and starting over. Probably my inexperience that helped.

However, I have heard of no problems with FC3 installs with regards to the old problem.
