I recently decided to upgrade my system running FC1 to FC2. Between the two versions, I've run into the following problems:
The "Games" menu that originally only showed up off the original "RedHat" menu now shows up in the following locations:
RedHat -> System Settings RedHat -> System Settings -> Server Settings RedHat -> Preferences
I also have a RedHat -> Other with a few of the menu items from the games menu.
In addition, my Logitech Wireless mouse stopped working (although, I was able to fix this by upgrading from the stock 2.6.5 kernel to 2.6.8. However, 2.6.8 apparently doesn't play nice with the nVidia driver, so when X starts up all I get is a black screen.
Hoping to try and fix the nVidia issue, I ran up2date on the system and upgraded x.org. Now my volume properties don't work complaining that there isn't a sound mixer. Attempting to re-detect the soundcard using the applet doesn't seem to fix it.
I also seem to have lost the ability to have keyboard repeat. If I try to turn it on, I get a message about the following:
An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for gnome-settings-daemon. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly.
Type mismatch: Expected `int' got `float' for key /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/rate
Type mismatch: Expected `int' got `float' for key /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/delay
At this point I'm debating the thought of re-installing the entire system, but doing to so fix linux issues just seems so wrong to me.
If anybody has any thoughts on this, I'd appreciate the help.
