No, that's not quite what I'm trying to do.

/home is NFS shared across the LAN, so that any user can always see all
the mail held in their own individual Evolution mailboxes no matter which
workstation they access the system through.  Of course, they will also
be able to pick up their own new email from the LAN IMAP server.

The extra piece that I am trying to do is to be able to move new email
from the IMAP server into the individuals' Evolution Inboxes without
the users having to log in and run Evolution.
