Ok so the last thing to try is simply:

chkconfig --list

and see what's the exact name of the NFSv4 service and then do:

chkconfig --level 0123456 off <name of nfsv4 service>

and then

service <name of nfsv4 service> stop

No reboots! Then try to mount as ordinary user a valid CD with iso9660
burnt on it and see what happens!
