I think either they or you are confused about what they really want. You can setup A DNS server to host mutiple dns zones. customer1.com, customer2.com ...and so on, just like what most ISPs do, not just because it's the easist way, but also because you simple can't have multiple BIND running on the same machine with different configs listening on the same well known port. maybe this can help. http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-3-Manual/ref-guide/s1-bind-namedconf.html Yang On Wed, 06 Oct 2004 09:03:26 -0400, Littleguru <littleguru@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > I have a several customers , and they want to have their own name > servers , with their own IP address . > Can I do this ? like create 2 DNS for one customer , and 2 for other one > , and go one . > > > > > Yang Xiao wrote: > > >On Wed, 06 Oct 2004 08:41:53 -0400, Littleguru <littleguru@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > > > >>Hello > >> > >>How can I configure more than two DNS name serevrs through Bind9 and > >>fedora ? > >>would you please send me a link that I can follow step by step to create > >>primary ,secondary and more DNS servers through command line . > >> > >>Thanks for your help > >> > >> > > > >I hope you mean multiple zones, why would you want to run multiple > >BIND service instances? > >As with a single zone, if you can setup one, you can do 100, 1000, > >same format, what's so hard about that? > > > >Yang > > > > > > > >
