Hi,

When you say "one file", do you mean one big image with all of the
individual pictures tiled together, or are the images stored as separate
frames such as you would make an animated PNG from? ImageMagic and the
Netpbm tools will allow you to crop a large image into smaller pieces,
and both tools will also allow you to split an animation into the
individual frame images, although I have never done this before.

I hope that this helps,

William
