The only issue I have is - the rpm files are 10 times larger than downloadable binaries (1.7.2) - and I don't know why..
Try listing the archive contents:
rpm2cpio mozilla-1.7.3-1.i386.rpm | cpio -tv
That should tell you where the space is being consumed.
