openmosix problem on fedora core 2

Hello All,
I recently downloaded and installed the openmosix 2.4.24-2 binary
rpm (I am under the impression it's not redhat/fedora version
specific) on a fedora core 2 machine that has the 2.6.5 kernel.
The rpm installed fine as far as I can tell, modified my grub files
correctly, and shows the correct kernel upon reboot. When I select
the openmosix kernel however, it uncompresses the kernel and gives
something like the following error (sorry i'm at work, the machine(s)
in question are at home and i'm recalling the error message from
memory)

ide: late registration of driver
kernel panic:VFS: unable to mount root filesystem on ....

I tried re-running mkintrd, but still no luck.

As far as I understand the openmosix rpm installs a complete patched
2.4.24 kernel which should make the 2.6.5 kernel irrelevent. I have
tried this on two different machines with different hardware both
running fedora 2. Is there some obvious incompatibility i'm
overlooking? Has anyone one else had any success/experience installing
this RPM?

Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.
