Why does everyone always assume all are using
Gnome???  I hate gnome and never even install it!!!!!
KDE is a much better X system than gnome will ever be!!!

FC2 uses alsa for it's sound. Initially when the system starts in gnome the
sound may be muted. Use alsamixer to unmute selections and set other
selections.
