Attachments should be you used to add some extra information to a
message, or to send out binary data, not to hold a message. At least I
think so, feel free to say I'm wrong (but please explain why).
As long as you're not objecting to legitimate gpg signatures, I'm happy.

If I understand your point (sorry, my English is not as good as it may
appear), you mean that a good place to put a gpg signature is an attachment.
I'm not familiar with GPG, but I guess it should be OK.
