I Xandros, my usb scanner was detected, but not supported by sane. In FC2, it's not detected. Thank you for the link. I'm going to follow-up on your suggestion as well as the other suggestions I've been getting. Even if I can't get the scanner running, I'm no worse off than under Xandros. I'll say this, too. I really don't think newbie should be intimidated by Fedora. It's a very usable and functional OS with world class support from this forum. -Joe
