Which version? I'm guessing that you had an install on that second hard disk that also had labelled the partitions, and there were matching labels... Use e2label (or reiserfstune) to check. e2label /dev/hdc5 reiserfstune /dev/hdc5 | grep LABEL: Then make sure that the files you've modified are the ones you think you've modified...
