But until I added that in my configuration it did not appear to work under FC2. Of course I could be missing something here. I was able to access other systems shares via non-nautilus means, fstab, smbclient. I really thought this was bug in nautilus not samba. > > So at the moment this is working with iptables disabled but when it is > > enabled it does not work. > > Are you positive about that? With iptables enabled I get the error message about not being able to display the entire contents. With iptables disabled I can see all the systems in the workgroup. It seems like it is repeatable. On both FC2 systems I have tested on here when I enable iptables I get that message. Previously I never got to that point as it never listed the workgroups. I double and triple checked that I had the samba ports opened up as well. > In all cases for me, even when things don't appear quickly, they will > eventually if I wait long enough. In my case, both are FC2. The FC1 boxes running as clients have not had any problems browsing via nautilus on the network. Every FC2 box I have setup was unable to see any systems in the workgroup, until this morning when I made that change. I have a number of XP boxes, as well as samba running on a several of RH8, FC1 and FC2 systems. I have shares setup on the RH8, and FC2 systems that should be accessible by all systems. Even the RH8 system can browse the network by entering smb:/// in nautilus. Until today I have not been able to get that to work. When I get home tonight I will re-check the two FC2 boxes I have there with the same problem and verify that after the change they can see the workgroup. I have to say this has been the biggest issue I have had with FC2 other than poor wireless support. Now I can actually see this starting to work and hopefully with a little more tweaking it will be fully functioning as it was under FC1. Now the remaining problem appears to be some kind of interaction with nautilus and iptables when accessing samba or windows shares. -- Scot L.
