This is definitely where SpeakEasy wins. Other ISP's will ask you to hook your Windows box to the cable modem because the script that the first level techs work from can't handle anything else.
I also recommend Speakeasy. As far as I know, they are the only ISP whose terms of service explicitly permit you to run servers on your DSL line with static IP addresses. Furthermore, with a slightly higher level of service you may provision up to four IP addresses, at no extra cost.
Depending on which tech you get they may or may not be able to help you with Linux-related networking configuration, but they will always be polite and won't treat you as if you grew a third eye on your forehead.
