Good morning.

My understanding of fedora at the moment is.

Maintain a high rate of development, with a new release being released
every 6 to 9 months (may be shorter), to allow for this high frequency
of releases support is only going to be provided for the current release
and the previous release. So when FC3 is released support for FC1 will
be dropped (or may have already been dropped).

This could lead to situations where your system may not be supported due
to scheduels. However, a secondary project has been set up called Fedora
Legacy who intend to extend security updates for a longer period (I am
unsure of how much longer). Check out their site
http://www.fedoralegacy.org/

These people are currently providing support for Redhat 9, and several
other versions, once FC1 support has been stopped by Fedora.com then
Fedoralegacy will pick up the ball (I don't know how long the cross over
will take).

To work with fedoralegacy.org simply requires a slight upgrade to
your /etc/yum.conf file, if you need any help with that, any number of
people from this group can help.

So, if your answer is, will the fedora community allow me to stick with
them with out being right on the bleeding edge with out finding my self
being left open to security vulnerabilities. Then the answer is kinda :)
However you ARE going to be looking at a higher upgrade/re-install rate
then with RHES.

I hope what I have said is not too misleading or too wrong :)
