Thanks Michael,

That seemed to work, using the -F option to install packages.

However there are 2 new (possible) problems.

First, upon installing yum, I got:

Maybe not a problem, just a warning?  And second, upon running
yum update, it seemed to be doing it's job for about 10 minutes and then I
got:
