I'd also recommend not running KDE or GNOME, as both use tons of memory
compared to small window managers like fvwm2, blackbox, Window Maker,
et al. I'm running MDK 9.1 on a Libretto 110CT laptop (P233MMX, 64MB)
and it's quite responsive. I wouldn't dream of running a full desktop
environment on it, though.
