It should work on 2.4... Why don't you run tail -f /var/log/messages in a console window and plug the thing in, see if anything suggestive pops up. Also, I heartily recommend yum for keeping your machine up to date, although there's not much wrong with apt and up2date. You can get an improved /etc/yum.conf from here: http://fedorafaq.org/samples/yum.conf Then do yum update and see what it says. You can also use yum to update your FC1 -> FC2, I did this on a couple of machines, including one server in another country over ssh with good success. But actually installing from the isos will be more certain. http://www.brandonhutchinson.com/Upgrading_Red_Hat_Linux_with_yum.html - -Andy - -- Automatic actions for USB cameras, cardreaders, memory sticks, MP3 players http://warmcat.com/usbautocam -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) iD4DBQFBGc69jKeDCxMJCTIRAhc/AJ44NRRi0y6vzQkNAcUokJFNHFYMVgCVHWQa KvFKn0sSSB6idNpyuZ5mGA== =mpDI -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
